“Orochi”

In this piece, I sketched the beautiful Benisato from the 1993 anime film, ‘Ninja Scroll.’ ⁣I love this scene from the film as it is wonderfully alluring, capturing the essence of how the character charms her unsuspecting victims. I have also always loved irezumi, the art of Japanese tattoo, so I had a lot of fun attempting to recreate this. I had just got myself a new set of watercolours so I wanted to test them out on this piece. I learnt a lot about the use of this particular medium and how to effectively blend tones to create shadows and depth.
