“Renshu”

Practising the art of practice. This is my ode to this art, which I was beginning to adopt into my life in a more meaningful and foundational way. The kanji is ‘renshu’ which literally means ‘practice.’ I wrote the word once each day for forty-eight consecutive days. This was to reflect the nature and approach to practice I have taken to be my way of life. I finished it by adding the larger overlapping calligraphy in gold as a way to ‘seal’ this commitment.

Forty-eight days in the making, a lifetime to go.
