"A Life Of..." Tee

$36.00

The great Daisetsu Suzuki (D.T. Suzuki) was a Buddhist professor, scholar and author who was instrumental in bringing the teachings of Zen Buddhism into the Western world during the early twentieth century.

An influential book, ‘The Training of the Zen Buddhist Monk,’ was written as a reflection of Zen Buddhist life and his own experience living as a Zen Buddhist practitioner.

In this volume, he distils the training and life of a Zen Buddhist monk according to five foundational principles; a life of…

  • Humility

  • Labour

  • Service

  • Prayer and gratitude

  • Meditation

These principles are not only applicable in the monastery, but also represent the Finding Space philosophy and way of life.

It is about assuming the role of a student and approaching each moment with openness and humility at all times.

It is about acknowledging that a day without work is a day without nourishment.

It is not only about living to discover our unique gifts, but once found, striving to give it away.

It is about holding in our hearts a sincerity of intention and recognise our lives as a gift.

It is about practising the art of meditation and holding ourselves within this state of being in every moment afforded to us.

This small batch, limited release tee was created as an ode to this philosophy of life, as well as a nod to contemporary pop-culture.
